The Setup

Beat Records studio gets a really cool sound out of a simple and effective ProTools based setup. We’ve got enough plug ins, outboard gear and experience in the control room to do everything we need to do and the ‘vibe’ in the studio is relaxed, creative and professional.

Robbie Colvin is the house engineer. He graduated from the School of Audio Engineering several years ago and looks at all the technical and sound quality side of things. He’s got a surprisingly diverse range of musical interests and lives and breathes music. His job is to pull the best sound for your band, regardless if you’re a rock band, emo, metal, pop, acoustic or folk band.

Ben Pattison is the producer and owner of Beat Records and has 13 years experience in the local music scene as a muso and in the studio. Ben looks at making sure your CD sounds hot enough to get it where you want it by combining the artistic side of what you do with the business side of things.
